We are delighted to announce, for FND Awareness Day UK on 25th March 2018 we have partnered with charities and groups across the UK to have a national day of raising awareness of Functional Neurological Disorders (FND), including Non Epileptic Attack Disorder (NEAD).
The FND Awareness Day UK committee consists of ..
FND Dimensions – a charity who set up and facilitate meet ups for those diagnosed with FND and related conditions across the England & Wales.
FND Action – a charity providing current information in conjunction with a specialist Medical Advisory Board, and support to those diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorders across the UK.
FND Friends – a charity who provide information and support to those living in the South West.
Friends in NEAD – a group providing information and support to those diagnosed with Non Epileptic Attack Disorder across the UK, and have a large social media presence in helping raise awareness.
Younger FND Fighters – a group which was set up by a handful of young people who had been diagnosed with FND, who wanted to come together to provide information and support to those of a similar younger age.
Functional Neurological Disorder – a group who were the very first in the UK to set up a peer support group on Facebook, and to date are providing support to 3,000+ members.
Functional Movement Disorder – a group who provide information and support to those diagnosed with Functional Movement Disorders across the UK.
Our theme for awareness day this year will be:
We are asking for people to get involved by taking a short video (up to 7 minutes) of themselves talking about any aspect of FND or NEAD. You could be a person who has been diagnosed, a carer, a friend, a medical professional, a service provider, or even just a member of the public who wants to support the cause.
We have also provided some guidance and tips on how to make your videos.
